Eligibility : This course is aimed at scaffolders who have completed a minimum of six months’ site experience since passing the Scaffolding Part 1 course.

At the end of the course the trainee operative should have a knowledge of:
The correct and safe methods of erecting truss-out, pavement gantry, loading bay, splay, protective fan, use of prefabricated beams and roof scaffolds in system and proprietary systems where applicable
The regulations governing the safe erection, inspection and dismantling of these scaffolds and the work methods to be adopted
Determining the material requirements for truss-out, pavement gantry, loading bay, splay, protective fan, use of prefabricated beams and roof scaffolds in system and proprietary systems where applicable
Laying out materials, interpreting simple drawings, setting out the scaffolds and overcoming obstacles to erect the scaffold safely
Constructing scaffolds to statutory regulations following the safe systems of work set out in safety guidance note 4 (SG4)
